Showcasing Hospitality Design
Case Study
Challenge: Glave and Holmes Architecture, a national-recognized architecture and design firm, wanted to grow its business in the hospitality sector. The firm had a strong team and good relationships but was looking for new opportunities to expand its reach with hotel and resort developers, owners, and operators, particularly boutique and high-end hospitality.

Solution: Gray Ryan Communications developed a strategic communications plan for the firm that targeted key audiences in the hospitality space. Media relations was a critical strategy in this plan. Gray Ryan recognized the value of positioning Glave & Holmes principals as leading designers who could help hotels and resorts deliver exceptional design that met the needs of the modern guest and boosted revenue. This media relations campaign was centered on project profiles to highlight the firm’s work as well as guest commentary to position Jessica Ritter as a thought leader for hospitality design.
Bottom Line: The campaign focused on recent projects, including Pinehurst in North Carolina, The Liberty Trust Hotel Virginia, and the Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania. The ensuing media coverage targeted hospitality trade publications followed by industry leaders. Notably, a guest column in Hotel Business about transforming outdated spaces to maximize revenue was among the most read pieces for over a month. Since the campaign’s launch, the firm has increased their hospitality work and strengthened relationships in the sector.
